Best Ever Cake Like Brownies!
So for my son’s dedication we got some amazing cheesecake from this great little local store. When I was in picking them up the lady said she had a fresh batch of brownies out of the oven.
Who can resist WARM brownies? Not this girl!
My daughter and I shared the best brownie I had ever had! Unlike most frudgy brownies, this one was moist and cake-like! (Although I have never been one to pass up any type of brownie)
Since that day back in February I have been craving that brownie. And I knew I had to try and replicate it.
Here is what I came up with…………..
White Chocolate Cake-Like Brownies
Brownie Ingredients
3/4 cup butter
1 1/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup milk
1 1/2 cup white chocolate morsels
Topping Ingredients
1 cup white chocolate morsels
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 t. water
Directions
Preheat oven to 350ºF
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Remove saucepan from heat and stir in sugar and cocoa powder until well combined.
Add eggs and vanilla and beat lightly with a wooden spoon until just combined.
In a separate small bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
Add flour mixture to the chocolate mixture, stir in milk until well blended. Stir in white chocolate morsels.
Pour batter into bar pan and spread evenly. I use the Pampered Chef Bar Pan and I do not grease it.
Bake for 15 to 18 minutes. Do the toothpick test.
Immediately after taking the brownies out of the oven I sprinkled more white chocolate morsels on top. Then I sort of pushed them down with my hand so they would sink into the brownie and melt a little.
While the brownies were cooling (still in the bar pan) I put 1 cup of semi-sweet morsels into a bowl and added about a teaspoon of water. I melted the chocolate in the microwave. I had to add a few more morsels because I put too much water in at first. You want the chocolate to be able to drizzle on top, so it can’t be too runny but not too hard.
Then I put the chocolate in a zip-loc bag and cut a tiny, tiny piece of the corner off.
Drizzle away!
YUM WARM BROWNIES!! I ate one before they were done cooling ![]()
I covered them with foil and stored them in the fridge. Every time we had one for dessert we would microwave them for about 15 seconds.
Then for one of the kiddo’s birthdays I put Vanilla Ice Cream on top!
