Leftovers For Days
From Meatless Monday to Pork Leftovers For Days……..hmmmmm? ![]()
This recipe is from a friend of a friend of a friend. Someone knows someone who has this recipe. And somehow it got to me.
Great summer meal. Great for birthday parties or potlucks. Great for leftovers (you will have them for days and days and days).
Just great, great, great!
And the sauce, oh Famous Dave knew what he was doing. It has the perfect BBQ sauce!! Kind of sweet…a tiny bit if spice to it….just the way my family and I like it.
Pulled Pork Sandwiches
Ingredients
4 to 5 lbs pork roast
Freshly ground sea salt, black pepper
Garlic Salt, Chili Powder
2 Large Bottles Famous Dave’s Rich & Sassy BBQ Sauce
Directions
Rub pork down with salt, pepper, garlic salt, and chili powder.
Place 2 cups water in the bottom of a crock pot and place the pork on top.
Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
Place the cooked pork on a cutting board and cut off the strings.
Take two forks and shred the pork.
Clean out the crockpot completely and then place all the shredded pork back in the crock pot.
Dump the BBQ sauce on top of the pork. I get two large bottles of the sauce and usually have a little left over. But I don’t like it to be dry so I never know how much I am going to need. Also sometimes the pork roasts vary in size at the grocery store and you may not know how much sauce you need per pound of pork roast.
Stir the BBQ sauce and cook for another 1 to 2 more hours until the pork is heated through.
We usually eat this with a salad and baked beans or some fries.
This time we had Alexia All Natural Sweet Potato Fries, yum!
ENJOY! (and enjoy all those leftovers too)
